Ferguslie Star AFC are an amateur football club based in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley. We were founded in 2012 shortly after the demise of Ferguslie A.F.C. The club is managed by former player and captain David Brown and assisted by former player Stevie McAvoy. The club also has an over 35's team, a 2004's youth team and more recently we have added a Sunday team to the set up. In the clubs first season as Ferguslie Star, we finished the season as winners of the Paisley & District premier division before moving leagues to the Scottish Amateur Football League (SAFL). When the club entered the league in 2012/13 we recorded back to back promotions before making our way to the Premier division but unfortunately we were relegated in the 2016/17 season. During this spell however the club won the Centenary Cup in a dramatic penalty shootout vs Premier League team St Joes before winning the Coronation Cup vs Motherwell Thistle the next season. The club endured 2 more disappointing seasons, finishing mid table in the Premier 1 division before deciding to move leagues to the Greater Glasgow Amateur Football League for the 2019/20 season, ending our 7 year stay in the SAFL. The clubs first season in the GGPAFL was cut short due to the global pandemic and the league was declared null & void so the club will again compete in the 3rd division for the 20/21 season.
We are always looking for new players to join us. Fill in our contact form, contact a club official or follow us on social media.
